Unlike most establishments of our kind today, Effigy is a working, first-class witchcraft shoppe of the Old Ways and is NOT a new age/spiritual/metaphysical shop, which are completely separate entities. The community obviously needs the new/metaphysical stores as well and we wholeheartedly support them, but it's just not who we are. From a full line of products to personal instruction and assistance, we offer everything you need to work your majick and spellcraft. You will NOT find cookie-cutter items at Effigy as you do at many other stores, but what you will find is an offering of one of the largest and finest selections of quality altar tools such as athames, wands, peytons and chalices. We also carry handmade divination tools such as scrying mirrors, pendulums and spirit/pendulum boards. We also offer custom jewelry, candles, incense, herbs, stones, crystals and much, much more. Effigy offers a full service apothecary with almost 200 fresh, not prepackaged, organic herbs, roots and resins that we hand measure or custom blend for you. We only carry items in the shoppe that we ourselves personally use, and almost all of our items are unique, handpicked and one-of-a-kind, which I want to emphasize is why some of our items are pricier than those you find online or in many other establishments which carry the generic items. The items themselves, especially the majority of the altar tools, are completely exclusive and are not available anywhere else. We hand brew our own potions, and hand construct our brooms, candles and cords and our selection of stones and crystals are all completely handpicked based on size, color and clarity, and you'd be hard pressed to find a finer selection of them. Since we opened in November of 2010, Effigy has brought and continues to bring the finest classes and workshops on a monthly basis, often with some of the best witches and authors in the world. Also, being a fact that Mark is an Initiated 3rd Degree Cabot Witch, we were given the honor of carrying Laurie Cabot's handmade products at Effigy, including Laurie's own spell kits, potions, oils and incense. We offer Tarot Readings on Saturdays and Sundays and select days for anyone that is interested in having their cards read. We don't believe in "soliciting" tarot readings, and we don't employ a "staff" of readers as in all honesty, all you really need is one reader who knows what they're doing, and our reader Donna has been an experienced Tarot reader for almost 40 years. Reservations are recommended but are not necessary. Please call the Shoppe to schedule your weekend reading or for any other information. We look forward to meeting you!
