"Effigy is one of the nicest and most beautiful shoppes that I have seen in my forty years in witchcraft."

I typically try not to engage in drama as I believe that responding only perpetuates the incorrect energy.  It is the main reason we do not have a Facebook page. However, a situation has been going on for more than a year now and ignoring it only seems to be feeding the fire.  We have been hearing repeatedly that patrons are being told that we practice dark or black majick here at Effigy.  Anyone who has come into the Shoppe knows that this is not the case.   We turn people away who come in for spells to cause harm to others.  We do not even do any work with love spells because they interfere with free will.  Ethics and morals are first and foremost in our practice.  It more than angers me to hear otherwise.  It is also being said that we are not nice to our patrons or child friendly.  It is sad that envy and ignorance lends to this type of behavior which adversely affects the Pagan community as a whole.  I hope anyone being told this sort of information will consider the source and intent for those comments and respond appropriately.  I apologize for having to put anything like this out there but unfortunately I believe it has become necessary.

Unlike most shops of our kind today, we are a working, first-class witchcraft shoppe of the Old Ways, NOT a new age/spiritual/metaphysical shop, which are completely seperate entities. From a full line of products to personal instruction and assistance, we offer everything you need to work your majick and spellcraft. You will NOT find cookie-cutter items at Effigy, but rather an offering of one of the largest and finest selections of quality altar tools such as athames, wands, peytons, chalices and divination tools such as scrying mirrors, pendulums and boards and ouiji/spirit boards. We also carry custom jewelry, candles, incense, herbs, stones, crystals and much, much more. We offer a full service apothecary with over 150 fresh, not prepackaged, organic herbs, roots and resins that we will hand measure out and/or custom blend for you. We only carry items in our shoppe that we personally use, and almost all of our items are unique, handpicked and one-of-a-kind which is why some of our items are pricier than other stores who carry generic items, however our items are completely exclusive and not available anywhere else. Rev. Mark handmakes his own potions, brooms, candles and cords and Donna makes and carries her own line of herbal potions and salves. Our selection of stones and crystals are all completely handpicked, and based on size, color and clarity, you won't find a finer selection anywhere else. We offer tarot readings, however, we do not believe in soliciting them. We are extremely old school in our beliefs and we feel people should wantingly walk into the store and actually request to have a reading done. Donna is a gifted reader and has been reading tarot for almost 17 years and she facilitates all of the readings as we don't subscribe to having a "staff" of readers. Mark has never been drawn to the tarot, but rather performs divination with ouija boards, scrying mirrors and candles. Since we opened in November of 2010, we have brought and continue to bring the finest workshops on a monthly basis with some of the best witches and authors in the world. Being a fact that Mark is an Initiated 3rd. Degree Cabot WItch, we were given exclusive rights to carry all of Laurie Cabot's handmade products at Effigy, including Laurie's own spell kits, potions, oils and incense. Stop in and visit us. You'll be impressed! Our shoppe is often imitated, but it's never duplicated!

Donna is available for Tarot readings for anyone that is interested.  Appointments are recommended but not necessary. Please call the shoppe to schedule your reading.

Effigy will be closing at 4:00 p.m. on Fridays.
